Liverpool’s Athe heads up what looks to be a killer party over at Factory Kitchen, with the brilliant Tryphème behind the decks. The Waveform Transmitter‘s Ste Knight takes a look at a party with a positive message.
Athe are a new brand on the Liverpool underground party scene, and one with a distinctly positive message at that. Promoting extended sets (no more of this one-hour nonsense), and DJ/producers who are female, queer or people of colour, Athe are providing a safe environment in which everyone can enjoy themselves – an ethos that is at the top of their list of priorities (level-pegging with hosting excellent music, of course).
For their first party, Léa and Nina have enlisted the services of the inimitable Tryphème, a producer and DJ who hails from across the channel, over in France. She has seen releases on tastemaker imprint, Central Processing Unit, through which she released her long player, Online Dating. The album is a soulful electro trip, a theme that carries on into Tryphème‘s DJ sets. We can’t wait to catch her for this rare Liverpool appearance; her debut in the city, in fact.
Support will be offered by residents Lupini and Ben Sleia, who will undoubtedly be tearing it up before Tryphème takes us on her 3 hour journey. You can grab tickets for the party here. We suggest you get in quick, because the venue is very intimate, so tickets are limited! See you down at the front.
