De Fantastiske To have just released their latest EP, Saharaball, and, to celebrate, they have granted us entry into their underground munitions factory to see what top Secret Weapons they’re preparing for a dancefloor assault.
Hailing from Oslo, De Fantastiske To, aka Ravi Brunsvik and Marius Sommerfeldt, are avid record collectors, producers and renowned DJs on the country’s club scene, who are rapidly gaining attention around the globe with their innovative shades of dance music. Their productions are often described as modern club music with a twist of old school, where often their fusions of rhythm boxes, acid generators, and jazzy Rhodes combined, offer something fresh and exciting to ignite the dance floors. Their releases have featured on prestigious labels on the underground dance scene including Black Riot, Paper Recordings, Trunkfunk, The Antidotes, Beatservice, Omena, Midnight Riot, and ISM.
We are lucky enough to have secured access to their hidden arms cache and, as the sirens sound around us, De Fantasticke To launch ten sonic missiles into the skies, ready to strike any dancefloor. Here are Ravi and Marius’ Secret Weapons.
5 from Marius
Soul Reduction – Got 2 Be Loved (Take Away)
Outstanding track …Well-crafted sample and really tight drums! Feel good disco-house all over.
Wilson Phoenix – Got My Man (Wilson Phoenix 1)
Hi-NRG house for those special dancefloor workout hours. Grab the wax!
De Fantastiske To – Saharaball (Black Riot)
The title track of our new EP, a sleazy bottom heavy slow-burner.
Max Abysmal – Sutekhs Mirage (Safe Trip)
Great have-a-mojito-in-the-beach-bar balearic on Young Marco’s label. Love those melodies!
The Mauskovic Dance Band – Continue the Fun (Soundway records)
Space-disco from the late 70s, which equals fun.

Earthboogie – Route Ten to Interzone (Leng Records)
Seems most things Earthboogie comes out resonates well with me, including this one. Funky and percussive.
Jean-Marie Bolangassa – Rikikida (Sofrito Super singles)
Hypnotic percussion driven track that fits anywhere in a DJ set.
Sadhana Sargam – Saat Samundar Paar (HMV)
There’s so much great stuff that’s come out from Bollywood musically, this is no exception.
Al Kent – Esther (GAMM)
Makes me play air tambourine every time, to Marius’ surprise and embarrassment.
Daphne – When You Love Someone (Maxi Records)
Not much needs to be said about this one, it’s just beautiful.
De Fantastiske To – Saharaball EP (incl. Yam Who? and Alinka remixes) is out now on both digital and vinyl on Black Riot Records. You can check out the rest of our Secret Weapons playlists, right here.
