Nachtbraker joins forces with San Proper for his latest EP, Misses Madame Mademoiselle. The Waveform Transmitter’s Andy Weights enjoys the afro-disco vibes contained therein.

Out now on Heist recordings comes a disco treat from Nachtbraker feat San Proper called Misses Madame Mademoiselle. A four track, feel-good offering of afro-infused, house, twisco. Designed to make you boogie, move your feet and wiggle those hips, shake those shoulders and swing that thing. Bump and grind, let’s get sweaty and get high!

Misses Madame Mademoiselle is a swinging, happy track that will positively poison any dancefloor, San Proper’s vocal keeps us company throughout with melodious exclamations of joy, as the snap and release drives us in multiple directions, never releasing us from the solid straight driving drum, guitar funk fest that will be orgasming into your ears.

Nachtbraker’s subtle filter work brings the movement to a simple repetitive melody. The track, which has a groovy little breakdown towards the end shows off the effective simplicity of repetition. A stonking introduction to the E.P and certain to cause, seven- minute, floor-filling missile moves.

The Session Victim remix turns up the fun and frivolity, breaking it down and rebuilding it into a more varied, clubby affair. Splashes of the guitar and a looser bass raise the bar and drive the track into overdrive with stabby horn samples that excite the senses even further. Pads and shuffling hi-hats add a dreamy feel but twist before dub vocals whisper sweet nothings into your ears.

The second Nachtbraker track, Hamdi, continues the deep house meets afro dico vibes, the reversed vocal sample introduction brings us towards the timely impact of a great bass melody sat inside the punchy kick and sandpaper like hi-hat with a terrific clicky and heavy reverb percussion giving the track an African feel, the synth delay adds a modernity.

As traditional chants are included the feel will defiantly cause the spontaneous motion of limbs, a big drop bends away like a whip and acts like a catalyst that really kick starts the track into full on party mode with a truly uplifting rhythm and intricate use of synth sounds and percussion which come in and out creating a maelstrom of organic sound branches to hang your dancing attentions on.

Last track on the EP is a Hamdi remix by Bil which begins with a distinct cowbell that sits among a re-use of the vocals that carry through the entire track, an interesting 808 re-imagining that gets a complicated array of percussion, vocals, samples and synths working well together to create a feast for the ears.
