Beat-Herder Festival Announces First Wave of 2017 Line-Up

The Fortress at Beat-Herder 2016

Beat-Herder Festival has announced a killer first wave of acts for their 2017 festival. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight has all the details.

Beat-Herder Festival is returning in 2017 for what looks to be yet another awesome three days. Taking place between July 14-16th in the picturesque Ribble Valley, the organisers have pulled enough rabbits out of their hat to cause a myxomatosis epidemic.

The announcement, which dropped today, features an awe-inspiring selection of acts.

First up as headliners are angsty punk-hop duo Sleaford Mods, who are not only critically acclaimed artists in their own right, thanks to their impressive back-catalogue, but they also collaborated with Leftfield on the track Head and Shoulders.

Danish producer and multi-instrumentalist, Trentemøller, is set to wow crowds with his diverse, and completely un-pigeonhole-able sound. The electronic artist transcends genre so this is sure to be a treat.

Also on the bill is reggae king, Mr. Ram Jam himself, David Rodigan, alongside Toots and the Maytals, dub legend Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, and hip-hop luminaries The Sugarhill Gang.

On the dance front, we’ve got a DJ set from Faithless and Hospital Records High Contrast will be dropping some neat drum&bass trax. Jackmaster will undoubtedly be bringing his own inimitable brand of techno to the table and electronica maestro Jon Hopkins will be in attendance.

Further to these are even more mindblowing acts! These include Richy AhmedSkreamAdrian SherwoodDub PistolsFactory FloorStereo MC’sArtworkMax CooperMr. Scruff, Shadow Child, Slam, Sonny Fodera, Denis Sulta, Optimo (Espacio), the mighty Utah Saints make a return after last year’s awesome performance, and many more. Several members of The Waveform Transmitter team attended 2016’s festival so you can take it on good authority from us that it is a great little gathering. The production is outstanding, the acts are great, and the crowd is one of the friendliest of any festival we’ve been to. Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain!
